Doodle with me!

Let Van Gogh inspire your doodles in this recording of the live event that combines the practices of mindfulness and drawing from the comfort of your own home studio. Unwind and drop into a state of peacefulness and calm through creative expression. Give yourself the gift of creative fun!

Doodling

Draw and paint for the process. Don’t worry about the outcome.

The act of drawing and doodling can be a form of self-care, especially when it helps us feel calm and in a state of “flow.” Our brains work hard to predict the future or spend time ruminating over the past. Doodling can help give our “focus” circuits a break, allowing for more calm that can help heal worries.

Learn creative relaxation techniques, be playful and enjoy an escape from daily stresses using mindfulness and meditative drawing practices that are scientifcally proven to decrease stress and increase focus. No drawing skill is required.

Walk through art history to learn and explore how artists have used similar methods to inform their art practices and engage in mindfulness.

Understand the science behind why drawing and doodling makes you feel better.

Have fun with simple art materials through simple process-oriented exercises without worrying about the outcome. Choose methods that work best for you–take what works and use it to create more space and calm where needed.

This is an encouraging, no-pressure environment to help you kickstart or deepen self-care through drawing practices in a safe, fun, and non-judgmental way.
